Winner of American Humane Prize

I just got one of those phone calls that pretty much makes your week. It was American Humane Association calling to let me know I’d just won the grand prize in their Pets and Pals photo contest.

The photo that won is one of my favorites from this year. It’s a shot of a cute Maltese named Louis taken in my backyard studio called “Give Me Paw”. It was one of those on-a-whim deals where I thought it might look cool if I got on my back and got Louis looking down from above. Of course, right after the shot was taken he jumped on my stomach but at least he’s a Maltese and not a Mastiff.

Named Top Pet Photographer in Beast of the Bay

One of the Bay Area’s local dog-centric publications, Bay Woof (I know, really cute name), held a Beast of the Bay reader vote-driven Award contest at the end of 2008 and announced the winners in over 35 categories in their March 2009 issue today. I’m proud to say I was chosen as top pet photographer.
